Saturday seems to have slipped by almost unnoticed, but the temperature's rising. I did some research about moths, of which I seem to have rather a lot. An excellent website for people who have a lot of moths in the house is www.kendall-bioresearch.co.uk . (I don't know why that didn't come up in blue.) These small brown jobs don't eat: the damage they do is producing grubs. It seems that control is best exercised not by using pesticides but by keeping the place very clean. What a bore!

I had a chat with Uncle John, who is recovering well. He has big plans for his newly-acquired house in Lyme Regis, and I'll be going down there when the warmer weather arrives. He and June had been walking above the Undercliff and saw hundreds, if not thousands, of people pillaging the containers from the beached ship. Thievery seems to be endemic theses days.

Helen turned up on Sunday in her little yellow Mazda, with the top down if you please, and whisked me off to the Trafalgar for lunch. Whitebait for me. Gladstone used to bring the cabinet here once a month for a whitebait supper, and the tradition lingers on. Downtown Greenwich is mobbed on Sundays, and the parking fees reflect that. £2.40 for one to two hours.

There was a certain amount of sport, which is why I pay Mr Murdoch all this money, but nothing sensational. Federer looks like becoming the greatest tennis player of all time. I wish I could be interested.

So, after eating up yet more leftovers (to be fair, a decent shepherds pie), I had a look at the telly, and luckily fell upon "Zulu" just as it was starting. I don't think I have seen the film for twenty years, and I enjoyed it. Not too long and not too loud, and the cameraman kept showing us the Amphitheatre in the Drakensberg, where we camped a dozen years ago.

Speaking of which, I was encouraged to scan a couple of pics from that epic journey, and I will try to upload them when I have finished this burble.

Springlike this morning. There were 18 of us out at dawn. I didn't win anything, but I had my best round of the month. It may be coming round again. Soon I will be going out in the morning without headlights, and that will signal Spring. Now I'll try to upload my scans. Don't go away.

Well, after a long time, the upload didn't happen. One more try.AmphitheatreNatal
